"Fusion Monster" is the debut album from the Montreal based DJ and producer Arkin Allen, internationally known for his live projects as Mercan Dede with his spectacular band Secret Tribe. This album creates a space for the sounds, rhythms and instruments of the east to combine with electronic and digital elements. The harmony created from contrasting electronic and traditional sounds and styles builds towards a real 'universal language'. Allen collaborates with various musicians, devoted to Turkish traditional music from all regions. Mercan Dede guests "Fusion Monster" on ney and percussion. While traveling outwards through different cultures, the hypnotic dreamspace of Fusion Monster also guides an internal journey to the heart of identity. The Fusion Monster is coming to get you, open up and take the ride. |
